University students from across Atlantic Canada learned about environmental research taking place in the region during the 2024 Science Atlantic Environment conference hosted by ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½â€™s Environmental Studies program last month.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Department of Alumni and Engagement hosted a social night on Tuesday, April 9 at the Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. The event was held to help welcome the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Class of 2024 to the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ alumni family and was open to all 2024 graduates and ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½, Saint Dunstan’s University, and Prince of Wales College alumni.

In February 2024, the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Engineering Brigades Club traveled to Honduras where they designed a water system for the rural community of La Brea.

Dr. Suzanne Kresta, a native of PEI, has been appointed as the Dean of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering for a five-year term, effective September 1, 2024. 

On Wednesday, April 10, six ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ business student teams will pitch their start-up businesses for a share of $62,000 in prize money during the MacLauchlan Panther Pitch Competition. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 4:00 to 8:30 pm in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, Room 242.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Student Union has commissioned a survey of students from post-secondary institutions across PEI to learn more about their housing experience.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½) recently bid farewell to seven of its most beloved staff members in a heartwarming retirement party.

The Honourable Diane F. Griffin was installed as the tenth Chancellor of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ during a ceremony held at the University on Friday, April 5. She was unanimously elected to the volunteer position earlier this year by ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½â€™s Board of Governors.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½â€™s Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2023–24 season at the annual ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Panther Celebration—Athletic Awards Gala on Friday, April 5, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have excelled in sport, the classroom, and the community.

Yukon poet and fiction writer Joanna Lilley will give a public reading as part of an Atlantic Canada tour in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ on Tuesday, April 16, at 7:00 pm.
