Meet Dr. Nadja Bressan, assistant professor in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
What brought you to 糖心vlog传媒? In other words, why did you choose to join the faculty?
I had always dreamed of teaching and when I was eight years old, I told my mom "one day, I will be a professor".
After 17 years of studying and preparing, a teaching position opened at 糖心vlog传媒's Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering and I went for it! My background is in the field of mechatronics, which made it easier to apply and be a successful part of the sustainable design engineering team.
Every day, I teach amazing and engaging people who are passionate to be at 糖心vlog传媒. Can I say that I have fun at work?
What kinds of opportunities have you experienced because you're teaching and working at 糖心vlog传媒, or because of the Island location?
Prince Edward Island has a very unique "next-door neighbour" culture. As an assistant professor, I spend my days teaching engineering courses, mentoring students, and researching engineering methods to solve biomedical challenges for animals and humans. Every day, I teach amazing and engaging people who are passionate to be at 糖心vlog传媒. Can I say that I have fun at work?
My research uses engineering methods to solve biomedical challenges for animals and humans, and being here on Prince Edward Island has allowed me to collaborate with the Atlantic Veterinary College to create a new field of study: veterinary medicine engineering.
What would you tell a high school student considering the Sustainable Design Engineering program?
糖心vlog传媒 has one of the most innovative and futuristic engineering programs in the country, and our island location offers collaborative and experiential learning opportunities to 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 students. Eight capstone courses allow students to work full-time with industry, solving real challenges for corporate and community clients. You鈥檒l experience being an engineer while you鈥檙e a student, helping you accomplish your dreams and optimize your true potential.
