Sessional Instructor - Department of Pathology and Microbiology - Atlantic Veterinary College (Fall 2026)
The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the Atlantic Veterinary College, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ has an opening for a sessional instructor of veterinary virology during the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
VPM 2110 – Virology (3 Credits)
This is a required course in the second year of the DVM program presenting important viral pathogens of animals and offers a theoretical and practical basis for understanding the diseases they cause. The sessional instructor will be responsible for teaching two lecture hours and two tutorial/laboratory hours per week, in person.
Lecture: Tuesday 8:30 – 9:20, Friday 9:30 – 10:20
Tutorial/Laboratory: Tuesday 2:30 – 4:20
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold an MSc or PhD in a field related to veterinary or comparative virology. Documented experience teaching similar courses and a DVM degree are assets.
Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
