Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Training
The Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development (OCEPD), in partnership with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), is launching a new and comprehensive training opportunity for Canadian employees.

With the introduction of Bill C-65鈥攚hich includes an updated definition of harassment and violence鈥攖he completion of workplace harassment and violence prevention training more recent than January 2021 is now mandatory for all federally regulated industry employees within Canada. The mandate for this grant project also includes creating a new informational website to serve as a resource for Canadian employees.
What does the 鈥淪afe Workspaces鈥� program entail?
- Employee Training 鈥� Available in English and French
- Online in three (3) formats:
- An interactive training course to be completed in stages at the participant鈥檚 chosen pace.
- An accessible voiced-over presentation that can be downloaded and completed at the participant鈥檚 chosen pace.
- Virtual facilitated sessions (approximately 3 hours).
- Three-year certification.
- Free for organizations and individuals working in the following sectors:
- Port services, marine shipping, ferries, tunnels, canals, bridges and pipelines (crossing provincial borders)
- Air transportation, including airports, aerodromes and airlines
- Railways that involves crossing provincial or international borders and road transportation
- If you are a subcontractor hired to work on a job site that falls into one of these categories, you may also qualify for free training. Please contact whvp@upei.ca for more information

If an organization is interested in having an external facilitator deliver in-person training to employees, please contact whvp@upei.ca.
- Train-The-Trainer
- A full-service training course for facilitators interested in providing training to their employees or the employees of other organizations. This training includes access to the online learning platform and a comprehensive training manual and facilitation guidebook.
- An Informational Website Website with Additional Resources (English and French) -
Who is this training designed for?
This training, while applicable to all employees in any workplace, has examples, scenarios, resources, and reporting mechanisms specific to the following federally regulated industries mentioned above.

L鈥橭ffice de la formation continue et du perfectionnement professionnel de l鈥橴niversit茅 de l鈥櫭巐e-du-Prince-脡douard (糖心vlog传媒), en partenariat avec Emploi et D茅veloppement social Canada (EDSC), lance une nouvelle formation compl猫te destin茅e aux employ茅s canadiens.

En quoi consiste le programme 芦 milieux de travail s茅curitaires 禄 ?
Formation des employ茅s 鈥� Disponible en anglais et en fran莽ais
- Formats en ligne (trois options) :
- Un cours interactif 脿 suivre en 茅tapes, 脿 votre rythme.
- Une pr茅sentation audio accessible, 脿 votre rythme.
- Une s茅ance en direct anim茅e par un facilitateur.
- Certification valide pour trois ans.
- Gratuit pour les organisations et les particuliers travaillant dans les secteurs suivants :
- Services portuaires, transport maritime, traversiers, tunnels, canaux, ponts et pipelines (traversant des fronti猫res provinciales)
- Transport a茅rien, incluant les a茅roports, a茅rodromes et compagnies a茅riennes
- Transport ferroviaire (traversant des fronti猫res provinciales ou internationales) et transport routier
- Si vous 锚tes un sous-traitant embauch茅 pour travailler sur un chantier relevant de l鈥檜ne de ces cat茅gories, vous pourriez 茅galement 锚tre admissible 脿 une formation gratuite. Veuillez communiquer avec whvp@upei.ca pour plus d鈥檌nformation.
