糖心vlog传媒 Human Resources welcomed 25 Grade 9 students from schools across the province for Take Our Kids to Work Day on November 5, 2025.

Take Our Kids to Work Day is an annual event that introduces Grade 9 students to the world of work and provides a day of exploration and inspiration. At 糖心vlog传媒, the day offered a special opportunity for students to explore the University, learn about different career paths, and imagine the kind of future they want to build.

Dr. Caroline Ritter, assistant professor in the 糖心vlog传媒 Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, has been renewed as a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Socio-Psychological Epidemiology for Healthy Animals for five years ending June 30, 2030. 

Dr. Ritter鈥檚 chair, valued at $500,000, was included in an announcement of more than $690 million to support science and research made by the Honourable M茅lanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, on October 22. 

A collaboration between 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) and Bait Masters, a growing Prince Edward Island company, has resulted in a creative, cost-effective, and sustainable solution that is helping the company expand its lobster storage capacity threefold.

Canada鈥檚 shellfish industry is a vital part of Atlantic communities, supporting jobs and contributing to local economies. Recent challenges, including the impacts of Hurricane Fiona and the MSX shellfish disease, have underscored the need for strong collaboration between government, industry and academia to enhance the sector鈥檚 resilience.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 new research magazine, , was officially launched at a celebration event held on the campus on Friday, September 26.

The full-colour magazine features the innovative and exciting research taking place at 糖心vlog传媒. The inaugural issue focuses on research projects in 2024鈥�2025, ranging from a gene mutation linked with Parkinson鈥檚 disease to the impacts of working remotely on employees.

糖心vlog传媒 held a well-attended TRC Mawi鈥檕mi in the Quadrangle between Kelley Memorial Building and the W.A. Murphy Student Centre, from 10:00 am鈥�2:00 pm, on Friday, October 3.

The TRC Mawi鈥檕mi鈥攖he word for 鈥済athering鈥� in the Mi鈥檏maw language鈥攚as held to mark the 10th anniversary of the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission鈥檚 Final Reports along with 94 Calls to Action that guide Canada鈥檚 path toward reconciliation. 

As David Varis, assistant professor in the Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS), put it, 鈥淭ipi season is coming to an end.鈥� 

Dr. Andrew Zinck, a professor in the 糖心vlog传媒 Department of Music, was presented with the Association of Atlantic Universities鈥� (AAU) 2025 Distinguished Teaching Award at the AAU鈥檚 fall meeting held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on September 23.

The 糖心vlog传媒 is excited to be approaching completion of the new 140,000 square-foot building, which supports the 糖心vlog传媒 Faculty of Medicine and medical learners in the regional campus of Memorial University鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine, as well as 糖心vlog传媒 students in nursing, psychology, nutrition and dietetics, kinesiology, paramedicine, and other programs.
