ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to recognize the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women was established in 1991 by the Canadian Parliament in response to the murder of 14 women at the École Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989. Twelve of the women were engineering students.
The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) will host a candlelight vigil on Friday, December 5, at 10:00 am, at the Academic Staircase in the FDSE building in recognition of this day.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ faculty member participates in 2025 Warsaw Security Forum
Earlier this fall, Dr. Jeff Collins, assistant professor of political science, represented ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ at the 2025 Warsaw Security Forum where he participated in the New Security Leader program.
He was one of 44 mid-career officials from 18 countries who were selected to learn together and have discussions with world leaders like former CIA Director David Petraeus, former US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, financier and political activist Bill Browder, and Dr. Hsu Szu-Chien, Deputy Security General for Taiwan's National Security Council.

All ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ students, staff and faculty are invited to attend the annual fall Global Village celebration held this year on Saturday November 29. Doors open at 3 pm for the cultural booth display. There will be a brief change over at 5 pm before the fashion show, the performances and open dance begin. The evening festivities conclude at 9 pm.

What brought you to ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½? Why did you choose to study here?
I’m originally from Kingston, Ontario, but I’ve lived in PEI for the last 10 years. I chose to study here at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ primarily for the unique engineering program offered here, and I was also excited to play on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ men's rugby team.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Choral Concert
Under the direction of Sung Ha Shin-Bouey, this choral spectacular will include heartwarming choral works, selections from Handel’s Messiah, and other seasonal gems, performed by the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Concert Choir, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Chamber Singers, soloists from the voice studios, alumni, and Le Ragazze Vocal Ensemble.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Shawn Doiron, will present an evening of big band jazz music. Numerous ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ music majors will showcase their ensemble and solo talents in this show, which will include charts in the style of mambo, samba, funk, swing, and ballads.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dale Sorensen, presents Reflections, a varied program of works that explore feelings of home, memories of people and places, portrayals of the natural environment, and even the characterization of a video game plot!
