In his message to the campus community, President Keefe encouraged students, faculty, and staff to celebrate Pride by embracing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and all that makes each of us unique, including sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. 

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ will hold its annual Summer Reunion Weekend in person from Thursday, July 28, to Saturday, July 30, after a two-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend will feature events for alumni from Saint Dunstan’s University, Prince of Wales College, and ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½.  

A red oak tree has been planted on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus in memory of the late Daryl Guignion, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Founder, long-time faculty member, and dedicated conservationist and biologist. The tree, planted by the PEI Wildlife Federation, was dedicated during a ceremony at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ on Wednesday, July 13. 

The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ has been granted accreditation for a three-year term from the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) for the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Design Engineering. This term may be extended to the maximum six-year accreditation period following the submission of a status report at the end of two years.

With human tourists joining us on Prince Edward Island, we also see an increase of furry family members enjoying the campgrounds and beaches.   

The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Women’s Soccer program has a gem on its hands. Head coach Lewis Page has recruited local standout Ria Johnston, hoping to build a strong foundation that can help end the team’s seven-year playoff drought.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Panther family and broader University community were saddened to learn of the passing of ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Sports Hall of Fame member John (Jack) Kane on July 3, 2022.

Dr. Shannon Murray, a professor of English at the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½, has been awarded the Christopher Knapper Lifetime Achievement Award by the (STLHE).

As a partner of the 2023 Canada Winter Games, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ is excited, along with the Canada Winter Games Host Society, to promote the 2023 Canada Winter Games Torch Relay.

On Wednesday, June 22, the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ had the honour of participating in an interactive online event with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who delivered a live video address from Ukraine to students across Canada. ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ was one of nine universities on the Zoom call with President Zelenskyy.
